Fleetwood Park’s schedule runs from 8:30 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. This includes four periods and lunch at 11:15 am. During lunch, students are allowed to leave campus. Each period is broken into four numbered blocks, during which various classes occur, on a fixed rotating schedule from Monday through Thursday, with alternating options on Fridays.

Students have five minutes to get from one class to the next and get an early dismissal every third Monday of each month. On these days, school ends at 1:05; these are called “flex days.”

Traditionally the school has offered classes in its single, three-story building. Recently, however, the school has found the need to add portable buildings to the lot in the rear of the school. This is because the district continues to grow and more classrooms were needed to serve the growing number of students.

Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities in the form of clubs, publications and sports are available. The student council hosts many regular events such as Fleetwood Thursday, school dances and Spirit Week.

A club called ReachOut is dedicated to promote diversity and raise awareness to issues both locally and globally. This club and its associated publication raised $8,500 that was applied towards building a school in Sierra Leone.

The school is renowned for its athletic program, which has a long tradition of instilling winning values and pride in its students. The program has won three provincial championships in various sports — the most recent was a boys AAA basketball championship that the school holds with pride.
